MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (10.1-Inch, 32GB, Wi-Fi)

Xoom When I started a week ago, I called and I was amazed. I can use multiple devices, and my first impression was not stellar Xoom. However, I could see the potential, so I went with it, I have some applications, I began to learn the interface and the depth of shots.

At some time during the two days of using Xoom really hit me. Xoom and IPAD are like chess and checkers. When you get to play chess (or attempting to use Xoom, in my analogy surprisingly) feel overwhelmed and confused. You can not really do well, you do not understand the options, not just a great first impression. On the other hand, their first game of checkers (or use the IPAD) is likely to be very good. It's not complex, plus all the options and concepts are obvious and easy to understand and his first game will be very similar to the hundredth.

But as they begin to understand the Xoom (or chess) that really starts to grow on you. You know what I can do, how to do the incredible depth and capacity of the device. While the iPhone (or women) players are still more or less the same experience time and again, with Xoom every day experience with the device makes it more powerful and enjoyable to use. In the end, Xoom does a much better device than any other competition, it just takes some time to learn what you can and getting the most out of it.

As can be seen in the last three paragraphs was not exactly impressed with Xoom to start. I was not even sure it would replace the current arrangements for most things. However, for two days I started to really "get" the device.

This first happened when I had to watch and note that someone sent me a PDF document. I downloaded my e-mail, and was able to really put in the memory of Xoom wherever I wanted in any folder I wanted. Wow, that's fine, you can do in competition. Then I was able to open a PDF reader of fantasy, with this program (which I find on the market costs). I went through and did what I needed (a tool of incredible free hand drawing, which was very easy), so I jumped back to e-mail, attaches the PDF file you just edited and sent. Now maybe not only hardworking, but I do not think this is possible in a competition. That the freedom to download files, you need to do, and then send them back. I've always used the iPhone requires files to be something like Dropbox, which is fine, except that he would have done what I did without using a computer impossible.

Another moment "WOW" came when I wanted to get some e-book device. Now, in my Apple products is usually pain, you connect the device to your computer, open iTunes go, please go to determined in a given area, and a particular feature, and if you do everything you can drag on your ebooks to the reader. Xoom was pretty simple. For ebooks I had in my team left them in the Dropbox, so downloaded Xoom, and the file manager that Xoom easily moved to a "Books" folder that I new Documents folder. Quick, quick, easy and done in the device, not the PC.

However, what really surprised me was when I wanted some books on the web. Using a normal browser I was able to just download directly from the Internet on the device. Then use the File Manager again and just moved into the correct folder. That really impressed me was disconnected from my Tablet PC, I could surf the web all, everything is downloaded, and then use them all without having to tie my team. I was hooked.

With my new enthusiasm does not require my computer to use the tablet was a forum for the development of Android developers to the application here had posted a lot of interesting applications that were in beta or wanted to promote. In the devices of the competition the only way to get an application through the portal is sanctioned and controlled, not as the Android (and therefore Xoom). Using Xoom browser bounced me around the forum, I downloaded the beta application, and then was able to install easily. Again, this is the device, and these applications were not approved, awesome.

Another example of something that caught my attention was on my third day with the device. I was using the application of CNN (which is free and optimized compressed, have a look) and I saw a video of a story that I found very interesting, but it was one of those is just a teaser, and the rest is in another site. When I got these videos on my iPhone I have only to try to remember to watch them on a computer, since it is inevitably based on flash. Not so in the Xoom, I wrote the address, the flash loads fine, and I was watching the video in full screen without problems.

This growth process more comfortable with the team and learning what he could do was in the last days. At every turn he would find something amazing that was not possible on the boards of the competition. I discovered the glory of widgets (custom workspaces that display little time or news, or whatever). I found some live wallpaper (wallpaper animated movement that can change and adapt to things like climate). I kept finding new impressive features and uses.

One thing I want to play in what is perhaps more technical than the rest of my analysis is the screen. I use my tablet for reading ebooks I started using pills for a while and found a job very well for this. I do most of my reading at night before bed, to the backlit display is really useful compared to a traditional reader. Anyway, one thing that always bothered me about the iPad as an eReader is the pixel density (the number of pixels (or square blocks of color) in every inch of space on the screen) is very low. The iPad is about 130PPI (pixels per inch). Was so low that it really gave me eyestrain remarkable to read the device, I could see the pixels, and it was not really a great reading experience. This was so pronounced that in the last month I actually had most of my reading on a 4th generation iPod Touch. Had a smaller screen, but a higher pixel density.

Anyway, Xoom has a very marked increase in pixel density resolution y. With its high resolution that is approximately 33% more pixels than the iPad, approximately 300,000 extra pixels. This is something you can immediately see when you look at the text. It is much softer and easier to read on Xoom. However, the downside is that the iPhone has a different type of screen has better viewing angle and color / contrast. In my case I do not care much, I think the pixel density to be 1000 times more important than small improvements in color and viewing angles, but I feel I should mention it.

My point in these last two paragraphs is that Xoom is a much better device for displaying text that any resolution of the lowest competition. If you are looking for a pill to read newspapers, books and websites, then you should Xoom or other pills of a high resolution view. In my opinion the resolution on the IPAD 2 / IPAD is not enough for the text.

Welp, this is really starting to long, so I guess it must end. I know this is not an opinion, as usual, you read it, but I really wanted to give people an idea of the experience of using Xoom to only give the facts and the collapse and comparisons. The Xoom is a device that improves exponentially the more you use. After a few days of use I can not really imagine going back to the limitations and frustrations of the competition. However, on my first day I was so impressed, so make sure you stick with it and get used to it. Now I'm going to dinner with me and I'll take my Xoom, which is streaming live video via the embedded Flash of wonder, the competition will be on the platform (probably in the foreseeable future).

Just want to talk I'm giving four stars Xoom, it is not perfect. Reference after I'd probably use Xoom IPAD / IPAD, two, three stars. There are still improvements that can be done with tablets. I really feel like Android and Xoom are on track, but that's not what I would call a perfect tablet is the best that is available now (for myself).

I hope someone will find my review helpful, please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have in the comments.
